More cuts expected by lowest ranking per capita expenditures in Metro DC
Fairfax Library services that are likely to be affected by another significant budget reduction are highlighted in The Washington Post. An estimated 89 full-time positions slated for elimination would affect 107 individuals, including Nancy Klein. Klein was recently presented with the Don Smith Award for helping fellow staffers as president of the library's employees association.

Simply put, our library system did such a wonderful job covering when staff were cut in the first budget cut that there were no complaints from the public. Fairfax County leadership pays attention to the squeakiest wheel, and the schools can mobilize lots of complaining parents, parents who think sports are more important to their children's education than libraries.
