It's Reception Time!

Some of the statuettesDon your casual or artistic attire to attend the final reception and auction showcasing Art in the Pages, the first public art sculpture initiative taking place throughout Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax. This unique event will be held on Saturday, September 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the spectacular Gannett headquarters building located at 7950 Jones Branch Drive in McLean, Virginia.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view and bid on decorated mini 5 ½ inch high library book statuettes (one of which is shown above) at the silent auction. Doug Brammer of Verizon, the project’s Signature Sponsor will lead brief program remarks at 5:00 p.m., featuring the unveiling of the full scale sculpture that will travel throughout Fairfax County as promoted by ‘Visit Fairfax’. Meet local artists, community leaders, Art in the Pages sponsors, and representatives of Fairfax County Public Library and Fairfax Library Foundation. Silent auction proceeds benefit Fairfax County Public Library programs and services, such as live online Homework Help, the Summer Reading Program, Fall for the Book Festival and more funded by the Fairfax Library Foundation.
